Tekashi 6ix9ine just accused Meek Mill of trying to capitalize on George Floyd’s murder, by releasing new music instead of taking to the streets in protesting alongside others like Kanye West. The problem is even his own followers are calling him out for going way over the line.
Tekashi 69 took to Instagram to blast Meek Mill, after the rainbow rapper says he should be marching alongside others like Kanye West instead of releasing new music.
“If Kanye who is wy more famous than all these rappers is outside protesting with the people, why is wanna be Martin Luther King NOT — But Has no problem dropping a song during times like this to capitalize(sic)” he posted on IG.
Tekashi captioned the photo message, with this, “BUT YOU THE VOICE FOR THE STREETS ??? YOU F—IN CLOWN.”
Although Tekashi didn’t specifically name Meek Mill in his statement, fans were quick to point out he was talking about the rapper’s recent release, “Otherside Of America.”
As you can imagine, immediately Tekashi’s own fans pointed out how his scathing statement makes no sense. First, as one person put it, “There’s nothing wrong with meek dropping a song when it’s literally made for the moments we’re living in.”
Meek’s new song addresses inequality and racism in the United States. The track opens with comments that Donald Trump made about the black community at an August 2016 rally in a predominantly white Michigan suburb. Also, the song ends with a section of Meek’s conversation with a CNN correspondent, where he points out, “I grew up in America in a ruthless neighborhood where we are not protected by police.
As we previously reported, Meek Mill is a huge advocate for criminal just reform, and co-founded the REFORM Alliance with Jay-Z.
Second, several pointed out Tekashi is in no position to speak out about anyone’s reaction to the current state of our country. “Don’t even get the respect to speak abt it when your not our race ?” one person posted.
Third, Meek Mill posted photos of himself protesting in the streets of New York in the past few days.
“Stop trying to start beef, literally no one cares, grow up,” a person commented on the IG post.
Another added, “Kanye was out in the street protesting, Meek dropped a song to spread awareness and unite people, meanwhile you out here getting busy typing and throwing shades on Instagram.”
As you know, Meek Mill and Tekashi 6ix9ine have been beefing since the day the rainbow rapper stepped foot out of prison. At the time, Meek hammered a music executive for promoting 69’s music because he is a snitch.
“I hope that rat going live to apologize to the people he told on or the victim….. Y’all forgot that fast a “rat” killed Nipsey he wasn’t suppose to be on the streets! That’s the only thing ima say because he’s dead,” he tweeted.
He continued, “Left his baby mom and child like a coward as targets!”
It appears Meek Mill may have responded to the allegation and statement made by Takeshi, tweeting, “My whole life a protest….. literally!”
