'Teen Mom' star Maci Bookout is being blasted for admitting she allowed her 11-year-old son to be on a 'diet' to cut weight for a wrestling team.

On Tuesday night's episode of 'Teen Mom OG' Bookout revealed that she had signed up her son, Bentley, for wrestling. The child, who she shares with fellow show star Ryan Edwards, was entering privates lessons after his mother believed it was a great outlet for him dealing with his dad's addiction.

But, Bookout said her son has to "stick to a diet to make his weight class if he wants to achieve his goal."

"Lot's of water, and workouts to actually cut weight," she said.

Maci's 11-year-old son confirmed the strict diet, saying he only eats 1,000 calories a day.

'Teen Mom' Star Defends Herself Saying It Is Only Healthy Eating

"In reference to tonight's episode-I have never and will never convince Bentley to 'cut' weight. After wrestling his first 2 tournaments in the 75lb class weighing in at 72-he came to me & said he wanted to wrestle at 70. I told him that's fine, but you WILL NOT 'cut' weight," she tweeted.

She contiuned, "I will layout a healthy scheduled diet for u, u can eat salads, grilled chicken, veggies, good carbs-instead of pizza, doritos & candybars. Through the season, he decided he didn't like it-I told him that's okay! U can go back to usual and wrestle at 75 which is what he did."

Twitter Erupted With Fans Reacting To The 'Wrestling Diet' Decision...

After the subject started trending, a few people started sending the reality star was to help the situation. One fan wrote, "Why not show him proper nutrition? Egg white omelet for breakfast with a side of turkey bacon or something or protein shake??? A muffin?? Who’s cooking for him?"

Maci replied, saying, "That's exactly what I did. That was at least one of the many breakfast options for him."

The bottom line, by the looks of it the kid is pretty good -- and cutting weight is part of wrestling. Plus, it's part of what comes with being on a reality show...people are going to judge!
