'Teen Mom' Star Amber Portwood's Baby Daddy Wants Her to Pay Child Support

By Ryan Naumann

“Teen Mom” star Amber Portwood’s baby daddy is demanding she pay him child support in their nasty legal battle for custody.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Andrew Glennon is not only seeking full custody of their 1-year-old son but wants Portwood to pay support.

He believes that it is not in the best interest of their kid to let Portwood have unsupervised parenting time.

Glennon accuses Portwood of not being able to provide a safe, stable, and secure environment for their kid due to her “frequent refusal and/or failure to take medicines prescribed to treat her mental-health conditions, among other concerns.”

He says he voluntarily spoke to the Department of Child Services as part of their investigation after Portwood’s arrest on July 5.

Glennon wants full custody and support along with Portwood to pay his legal bills.

The custody grab comes after prosecutors for the State of Indiana charged Portwood with three felonies relating to domestic battery against Glennon.

According to court records, Portwood was charged with domestic battery, criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon and domestic Battery committed in the presence of a child less than 16 years old.

All three charges are filed as Level 6 felonies, which carry sentences of six months to 2.5 years per charge.

As we reported, Portwood's baby daddy went to court and started the process to get custody of their child, 1-year-old James. Glennon filed a petition for paternity, and also for an emergency hearing regarding custody of their child.

According to the probable cause affidavit obtained by The Blast, Andrew Glennon (the father of Portwood's 1-year-old son) told police the couple got into an argument over trying to see fireworks on the Fourth of July.

He claims he dropped Portwood off at home and drove around with the baby for a little bit to give Portwood time to "cool off." When he returned home, Glennon told police that Portwood "grabbed a shoe off the shoe rack and hit him with it. Mr. Glennon stated he was holding [the baby] and he turned to the side to avoid [the baby] getting hit with the shoe."

Glennon claims he left the house again with the baby and drove around for three hours before returning with "a gift" and some food.

But when he returned, Glennon claims he went upstairs and Portwood "was coming at him like she was going to hit him." He told police that Portwood "then threatened to kill herself" and that she "went to her drawer and took a handful of Klonopin and tossed it back like it was nothing."

She later threw up the pills, he claims.

He then claims that Portwood "picked up a machete towards him and [the baby]. Mr. Glennon stated he locked himself and [the baby] into the office ... Mr. Glennon stated she hit the door with the machete and kicked the door and broke the handle. Mr. Glennon stated that is when he called for help."

Glennon later told police that Portwood had the machete for protection because, as a felon, she is not allowed to possess a firearm.

Portwood is expected back in court later this month.
