'Teen Mom' Star Mackenzie Mckee’s Mom Angie Cancer Battle Update, Family Asks For Prayers

By Ryan Naumann

“Teen Mom” star Mackenzie Mckee is thanking fans for their love while her mom Angie is battling cancer.

McKee’s family posted a photo of Angie Douthit in the hospital. They shared an update on her recent setbacks.

They wrote, “Corinthians 16: 13-14 “Watch, stand fast in your faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love.”

“Today has been a day full of love. There has been a huge outpouring of love from some very special people to mom. People have been so amazing and have let God use their gifts of giving and hospitality.”

Further, “We have all been so overwhelmed and amazed. Even several of the hospital staff and doctors that have come in have prayed with mom and told her how much she has influenced them and helped them with her message. She is currently unable to write this post herself because she is hurting too much so we decided to make a post for her. We thank you all for the love and generosity you have shown and continue to show. Please continue to pray. She is hurting very badly and she is having trouble with her memory. She loves you all so much. #alwaysbekind #staystrongmightywarrior.”

Douthit was posting weekly Instagram updates about her health. Earlier this week, Douthit revealed her cancer had grown in her liver and brain. She said there was some hemorrhaging in the brain.

She wrote, “I will have two more doses of radiation and that will be the last treatment I will be given. I should be able to go home in the next few days. We have decided to have hospice come in when I go home for some extra care. I haven’t been able to open my eyes all day and my head has been hurting badly. Kaylee has had to help me write this post. I’m not sure what to say... other than How God told me early in my diagnoses that He would heal me but I would have a long dark journey to take. I’m starting to think this is what He meant by long dark journey. So please pray for me that I will be strong and be able to stop vomiting. Also please pray that I will be a mighty warrior for Christ. I love every one of you.”

McKee shared a photo of her mother and father embracing each other. She thanked her dad, “Her lobster🦞, his princess 👸. Daddy, you are such a wonderful man. Thank you for loving her so fiercely since you were a young boy.”

Back in 2017, Douthit released a book titled “God’s Plan” where she talked about her cancer battle.

The book description reads, “Angie Douthit spent her entire life on fire for God. As a loving wife, mother, daughter, and friend, she measured the essence of life’s moments by her ability to personify God’s grace.

A chance visit to the doctor, would reveal a life-altering discovery and force Angie to prepare for the battle of her life, and the ultimate test of her faith.”
