Taylor Swift Gives Surprise Performance at Iconic Stonewall Inn for Pride Month

By Whitney Vasquez

Taylor Swift shut down the house by giving a surprise performance during a Pride Event and debuted her new song, "You Need to Calm Down."

It all went down on Friday night at the iconic Stonewall Inn in New York City.

Swift gave an intimate performance at the event which was co-hosted by "Modern Family" star Jesse Tyler Ferguson and drag queen Jackie Dupree.

Swift's support at Stonewall is huge because last night's event was an important one.

Supporters gathered to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising in which the LGBTQ+ community protested against a violent police raid of the gay bar.

Beside debuting her GLAAD-approved new single, Swift sang a bunch of other hits ... but it was her duet with Ferguson that stole the show.

In a video taken by fans, Ferguson is seen holding his mic on the side of the stage and singing along with Swift to her 2014 smash, "Shake It Off."

Swift sparkled on the tiny stage and we're not just talking about her rose-gold sequined shorts.

The "Lover" singer accentuated her long limbs wearing sky-high heels with adorable flower features around the ankles.

Rocking out on her light pink guitar, Swift made everyone's night.

The singer's performance comes the same day she dropped "You Need to Calm Down," in which she talks about pride parades and the LGBTQ+ organization GLAAD.

Earlier this month, Swift penned a letter to Tennessee Republican senator, Lamar Alexander, urging him to vote in favor for the Equality Act, which protects the LGBTQ community from discrimination in the workplace, home, schools, and other public accommodations.
