Swift Runs Through Her History With West

The animosity between Taylor Swift and Kanye West has been simmering for quite a long time. The number of negative interactions between the two far outweighs their moments of cease-fire friendship.

In a new interview in Rolling Stone, Swift talks about her tumultuous relationship with West and at one point calls him "two-faced."

That 2009 VMA Event Just Won't Die

Many remember the 2009 Video Music Awards, when West burst onto the stage while Swift was accepting the award for Best Female Video, and said: “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you. I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!”

West did apologize to her and the two seemed to be smoothing things out.

Things Have Not Improved Between the Two

Moving ahead a bit: Swift points to the 2015 Video Music Awards as a turning point for her. That was when the two were apparently ready to bury the hatchet on stage, when West was receiving the Vanguard Award.

She says West asked her to present the award to him.

But when she got up on stage, West says, according to Swift, “he screams, ‘MTV got Taylor Swift up here to present me this award for ratings!’ ”

Swift tells Rolling Stone, “I realized he is so two-faced. That he wants to be nice to me behind the scenes, but then he wants to look cool, get up in front of everyone and talk s**t. And I was so upset.”
