The home of the original actor to play Tarzan on TV was the scene of grisly incident after an elderly woman was murdered and the suspect was taken down by law enforcement.

Deputies from the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office raced to the home of 81-year-old Ron Ely on Tuesday night for reports of a family dispute, according to local outlet KEYT.

When law enforcement arrived, they found an elderly woman dead from apparent stab wounds.

An elderly man inside the home, believed to be Ely, told deputies that the homicide had been carried out by a family member.

After a search of the property, the suspect was located, who threatened officials and in return was killed when deputies opened fire.

Witnesses at the scene claim a dozen rounds were fired at the suspect.

The elderly man was transported to the hospital but was believed to be in good condition.

Some reports claim the elderly woman who was killed was Ely's longtime wife, former Miss Florida Valerie Lundeen, but that information has not yet been verified.

Lt. Erik Rainey of the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office is being careful on the information that is released regarding the identify of Ely and his family members, but did explain, "All I can say at this point is that the call was of a family disturbance, but we don't have any confirmation of the relationship of the homicide victim to the suspect who was confronted by deputies."
