Tamar Braxton Claims WE tv 'Ignored' Her Cries For Help Before Suicide Attempt

Tamar Braxton took aim at WE tv in her first post since her possible suicide attempt on July 16. The 43-year-old, who has been a star on the network since 2011, claimed the company "ignored" her cries for help prior to her hospitalization and doubled down on the letter she sent executives explaining her misery. Taking to social media on Thursday for her very first post since attempting to take her own life, the "Braxton Family Values" star fired off on the network which she once claimed was run by "cruel white slave masters."

'I Was Betrayed'

"Over the past 11 years there were promises made to protect and portray my story, with the authenticity and honesty I gave. I was betrayed, taken advantage of, overworked, and underpaid," she wrote. Addressing the letter she fired off to We tv two months ago, Tamar Braxton said that in it she asked "to be freed from what I believed was excessive and unfair."

"I explained in personal detail the demise I was experiencing. My cry for help went totally ignored," she continued. "However the demands persisted. It was my spirit, and my soul that was tainted the most."

'Slow Death Of The Woman I Became'

Admitting that she no longer liked the person she was watching herself turn into because of the show, Tamar Braxton added, "It was witnessing the slow death of the woman I became, that discouraged my will to fight. I felt like I was no longer living, I was existing for the purpose of a corporations gain and ratings, and that killed me."

She then turned the focus to mental health, opening up about her own struggle and encouraging others to drop the stigmas surrounding those who are experiencing it.

"Mental illness is real. We have to normalize acknowledging it and stop associating it with shame and humiliation," she told her followers. "The pain that I have experienced over the past 11 years has slowly ate away at my spirit and my mental."

As The Blast reported, Tamar Braxton was rushed to the hospital on July 16 after a possible suicide attempt. Fans have continued to pray for her mental health amid her hospitalization and recovery. Prior to her possible suicide attempt, Tamar Braxton fired off a scathing letter to WE tv, slamming them for forcing her to disclose an explosive secret and attempting to tear her family apart.
