Tamar Braxton's New Reality Show 'Postponed' After Hospitalization For Possible Suicide Attempt

Tamar Braxton's upcoming new reality show, 'Get Ya Life!' has been postponed due to the reality star's recent hospitalization due to a possible suicide attempt.

According to reports, WE tv (the network behind the show) has decided to pull the plug after Tamar was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital, earlier this month, for a possible suicide attempt.

The company claims its first priority is a concern for Braxton's recovery and well-being and felt it was no longer comfortable in debuting the series while she is still hospitalized.

Network Says It's First Concern Is 'Her Recovery and Well-Being'


“Tamar Braxton has been an incredibly important member of the WE tv family for more than a decade, and our first concern is for her recovery and well-being,” the network said in a statement to Variety.

They continued, “Given the current situation, we are postponing the premiere of ‘Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life!’ until September 10. This series was conceived by Tamar and is a real portrait of a dynamic woman juggling the demands of being a single mother, a new relationship, and her career."

We broke the story, Tamar is still receiving mental health treatment in an undisclosed location in Los Angeles.

The Show Will Air 'When The Time Is Right'


"We know, when the time is right, Tamar’s fans will relate to seeing this honest portrait of her life, but – at this moment – we are joining with her fans and sending strength and healing in the hope that she is getting the support and help she needs at this difficult time," WE tv concluded.

As we reported, in June, Braxton wrote a scathing email to network executives comparing them to "cruel white slave masters who once chained our forefathers," and blaming then for turning the Braxton family from a 'once happy' group to people to ones that "fight with each other, betray each other, and now we’re physically assaulting each other."

Tamar Wrote SCATHING Letter To The Network She Was Suicidal


The new reality show is supposed to feature "shocking revelations and extreme breakthroughs" in Braxton's life, and capture the "most authentic side of Tamar Braxton ever."

The problem is, Tamar, revealed to the network she was suicidal in the same brutal letter and placed some of the blame on over-aggressive reality show producers who 'dug up a secret I’d never shared with anyone, a secret I was so ashamed to talk about that I hid it even from my own mom."

In the letter, Braxton accused the show of exposing "on your show in front of my entire family and 100 crew members," details of the facts surrounding her being "assaulted and raped repeatedly from age 6 to age 16, sometimes multiple times a day.”

Tamar Braxton Remains Hospitalized Receiving 'Specialized Treatment'


According to sources close to the situation, Braxton in currently still undergoing treatment for depression, anxiety, and trauma associated with sexual violence.

The reality star is still hospitalized in Los Angeles, and receiving the 'best available' care..according to her boyfriend.

We broke the story, David Adefesco called 911 after finding Tamar 'unresponsive' after drinking and taking an unknown amount of prescription medication. At the time, he frantically shook her and checked her pulse and breathing until paramedics arrived.

In the 911 audio, obtained by The Blast, Tamar's boyfriend discusses her issues with the network after being questioned by dispatchers about why Braxton may have considered taking her own life.
