T.I. and his wife Tiny headed out to Mexico with their close friends amid the growing backlash over him revealing he tests his daughter's virginity.
Tiny shared photos on social media from Mexico, where they are celebrating singer Monica and Toya Wright’s birthdays.
She posted video of them watching fireworks captioned, “For the birthday girls @monicadenise @toyawright all the way in Mexico.”
The following day they were all hanging out at the resort playing spades. T.I. can be seen in the background.
Toya showed off the gorgeous views from the trip and even gave some looks for the fans.
The vacation could be much needed for T.I. who has been catching major heat for his appearance on the podcast “Ladies Like Us.” On the show he told the hosts he takes hi daughter, Deyjah Harris, to the gynecologist. He does this to make sure her hymen is intact, which he believed would indicate she was still a virgin.
T.I. said he makes his daughter sign medical releases to allow him to see her results.
Deyjah liked two tweets from other people discussing T.I. One read, “this is disgusting, possessive and controlling whew.”
The second said, “That is beyond possessive.” Deyjah’s liking of the tweets would make one think she agrees with their views. Deyjah has been shown tons of support on social media. One person wrote, “I support you, not your father. I’m hoping you’re okay - sending love from Austin. ❤️ You are a strong woman with a lot of ppl supporting you!”
Another said, “our dad needs a spanking! I don't care how much money he has,he has a way of trying to control any woman!! Run far away!!”
T.I. has yet to respond to the backlash he’s receiving. Nazanin Mandi and Nadia Moham, the hosts of “Ladies Like Us”, issued an apology this week.
The statement read, “To everyone confused, angry and hurt by the recent episode of “Ladies Like Us”, we want to start off by saying that we sincerely apologize for our knee jerk reaction to the uncomfortable topic. We were completely caught off guard/shocked and looking back, we should have reacted much differently in the moment.”
T.I.’s comments immediately caused an uproar from celebrities and even Planned Parenthood stepped in.
Planned Parenthood said, “A virgin is someone who’s never had sex. But “sex” means different things to different people, so “virginity” does too. Many don't care what it means or think it matters. Whatever you believe, the fact is you can’t tell if someone’s had sex by checking their hymen.”
They added, “Some people think you can tell if someone’s had sex before if their hymen is stretched open. But that’s not the case. Say it with us: YOU?CAN’T?TELL?IF?SOMEONE’S?HAD?SEX?BY?THE?WAY?THEIR?HYMEN?LOOKS?OR?FEELS.”
The vacation could be relaxing for singer Monica who just finalized her divorce from NBA star Shannon Brown. He recently flirted with his ex-wife on social media.
