A stripper in Texas went viral after falling off of a pole more than two stories high and smashing onto the stage, but it turns out she was seriously injured and a GoFundMe page has been set up to help with her expenses.
The dancer, who goes by Genea Sky, was performing at a strip club in Texas when she climbed up a two-story stripper pole to do some acrobatic moves, but lost traction and fell down to the stage.
At the time, it seemed she was ok because she jumped up and started twerking like nothing had happened!
Turns out, she was seriously injured during the fall, and she took to Instagram to update her friends and fans who were worried about the situation.
She captioned the video, “This isn’t for attention. This video is to update everyone and thank you guys for all the love and support. I’m truly blessed and I appreciate everyone’s kind messages. Thank you so much.”
In the video, she explains she broke her jaw and will require surgery on it this week. Also, she shows off several of her teeth that were chipped. Lastly, she says she twisted an angle and received a few stitches on her chin.
So, a friend of hers created a GoFundMe page for Genea, saying, “My friend Genea was in a horrible accident while she was working. She now has a fractured jaw, broken teeth, and a sprained ankle. Her job does not cover the expenses of her medical bills. Since she sustained such serious injuries, she will be out of work for an extended period of time. Any donations towards her surgeries would be helpful and appreciated! Thank you all in advance.”
At the time of publishing, the page has received $16,358. You can donate….HERE.
The video of the fall went viral after several people posted it on social media, even a few celebrities like 50 Cent go into the conversations to make jokes.
“this b**** dead thats just her nerves making her shake. LOL,” the rapper said on Instagram. He continued, “never give up, and they say football is tuff.”
But many people are sending her messages of support and well wishes to get better soon.
“Mamba mentality, most of these broads would have started crying but not you queen reminded me of when Kobe hit those 2 free throws after tearing his Achilles. Heal up queen,” one person wrote.
Another added, “I hope you get better I have also been in an accident that had stopped everything and I understand your struggle. I hope you get better you heal well and promptly. Stay strong beautiful!”
And, “This video jarred me to no end. And to see this poor woman continue to dance just goes to show the dedication she has to her job and the fact that she clearly needed the job. A woman supporting woman… so important.”
