“Stranger Things” took a roundabout way of announcing there will be a Season 4 of the popular Netflix science fiction series, posting a strange tweet to keep fans on their toes.
The show’s social media account spent precious time Sept. 29 posting emojis like the upside-down smiley face and a clock, and also included a video on Instagram Stories.
While it has been officially announced that a Season 4 will be on the way, that may not do much to assuage viewers, since Netflix takes a helluva lot of time between seasons.
According to cheatsheet, Season 2 arrived Oct. 27, 2017, and Season 3 was released July 19, 2019. That’s 21 months between seasons. That’s a long time.
Despite the good news, we still don’t know when we’ll see new episodes, though it was announced in July that filming would begin in October, 2019.
That’s right about now!
If Netflix keeps up this breakneck pace, we might see what happens to the gang in Season 4 by late next year, or even early 2021.
Here’s Netflix’ video of the announcement. It doesn’t say a whole lot except the phrase “We’re not in Hawkins anymore.”
If you’ve already gobbled up Season 3, you’re not in Hawkins either.
