"Storm Chasers" star Joel Taylor's body has been released to his family after an autopsy was completed in Puerto Rico.
Sources close to the family tell The Blast the autopsy of Taylor at the Puerto Rico Forensic Sciences Institute showed no obvious signs of trauma, and officials are now waiting on his toxicology to determine a cause of death.
We're told his body has been released to the family and is currently headed to his hometown of Elk City, Oklahoma.
Funeral services for Taylor will take place Monday afternoon at the First Baptist Church. For those who wish to leave messages of condolence for the family, we're told they can be made at the Martin-Dugger Funeral home.
As for how Taylor died, the Puerto Rico Police Department is leading the death investigation. The FBI was initially contacted as protocol for a death in international waters, but The Blast has confirmed the FBI determined the death was not criminal and handed the investigation over to the local authorities.
The U.S. Coast Guard also received a call over the death and will be investigating the death purely from a "marine safety standpoint."
The Blast first broke the story regarding Taylor's death on the Royal Caribbean ship, Harmony of the Seas.
