Stacey Dash's Announces Split From Husband On Instagram After Domestic Violence Arrest

The fourth time wasn't a charm for Stacey Dash. The "Clueless" actress announced she was separating from her husband of two years, Jeffrey Marty, via social media on Thursday, April 30. The 53-year-old star took to Instagram to reveal the news. "Hello Everyone, My husband and I have made the hard decision of ending our marriage," she surprised fans by writing. "After much prayer, I feel this is the right path for both of us," she continued before adding, "I wish him nothing but the best."
Ending her marriage message, Stacey Dash concluded, "Thank you everyone for your support and respecting our privacy during this difficult time." The actress and her lawyer husband's relationship was fast-paced from the beginning. The duo said "I do" during a secret ceremony in April 2016, just ten days after they met one another. While they were quick to tie the knot, their relationship wasn't always smooth sailing. The news of their split comes just seven-months after Stacey Dash was arrested for domestic violence after an alleged altercation with Jeffrey Marty.

In September, Stacey Dash was booked on domestic violence charges in Pasco County, Florida where her and her now-estranged husband share a home. According to the police report, the star allegedly slapped and pushed Jeffrey Marty during the argument. The report also stated that upon arrival "the victim sustained red scratch marks to his left upper arm from being pushed." PEOPLE obtained a statement regarding the altercation that stated, “No charges were pressed by her husband, however, Deputies arrested Ms. Dash peacefully, as a formality."
The statement also added, “Ms. Dash’s husband appeared in court today, September 30th, on her behalf and Ms. Dash was released from the Land O’ Lakes detention facility. No further legal action is pending." Calling the incident a "marital dispute," the statement continued that it was "blown out of proportion." Debunking reports, it added, "An earlier report on TMZ.com said her manager told TMZ that she was attacked by her husband — both the sources relationship to Ms. Dash and the events of the evening were misrepresented.” Following the incident, Stacey Dash took to Twitter writing, In October 2019, shortly following the incident, Dash tweeted, “Like normal married couples my husband and I had a marital dispute that escalated. Thank you for your support and love. Please give him the same.” Jeffrey Marty is Stacey Dash's fourth husband. The duo has no children together but she is mom to two kids -- 28-year-old son, Austin Williams, and 16-year-old daughter, Lola Lovell -- from separate marriages.
