“Southern Charm” star Kathryn Dennis was falsely accused of breaking into a woman’s home, and the person who reported her was Thomas Ravenel’s friend.
According to local reports, 33-year-old Lara Dawson was arrested and charged for filing a false police report.
On September 27, Dawson called police claiming Dennis was breaking into her home. Officers responded to a burglary in progress.
According to the police report, Dawson described Dennis as a “former friend” to cops. She said Dennis was with a large man in a red shirt and they were driving in a black Honda SUV, with a Texas license plate.
Dawson even told officers she watched Dennis go to the front and back door, along with take something to the car. She claimed the property had signs of forced entry on her porch door.
Officers did not see any signs of forced entry nor was anyone inside the home.
The report read, “There was what appeared to be pre-existing damage to the framing on the lower part of the door. The exposed wood looked aged and roughly in the same condition to the rest of the framing.”
The police called Dennis’ attorney and talked with the reality star. Dennis had been with her lawyer since 11:50 am, which was hours before the alleged burglary.
Officers then arrested Dawson and booked her into jail. She was released on $1,500 bond.
Dawson previously got involved in Dennis’ custody battle with Thomas Ravenel. She was also a roommate of Ravenel’s ex-girlfriend, Ashley Jacobs, at one point.
Dawson attempted to mediate the issues with Dennis and Ravenel.
Dennis recently scored joint custody of the two kids she shares with Ravenel.
