'Southern Charm' Star Kathryn Dennis Shows Former President Obama Love Amid Her Racism Scandal

By Ryan Naumann

“Southern Charm” star Kathryn Dennis is showing love to former President Barack Obama amid accusations she sent racist messages.

The reality star showed her support for former President Obama following his town hall speech where he addressed George Floyd's murder and protests.

Kathryn tweet, “It’s great to hear from a real President. Thanks, Obama. I’ve been looking more forward to hearing @BarackObama speak than I have been to hearing anything Trump has had to say for the last month. The @GOP is losing its base. Haven’t been part of the @Gop since 2012. Thankfully. Hearing Obama talk was so encouraging!!”

The timing of her supporting Obama is interesting given she’s in the middle of a racism scandal.

As The Blast previously reported, last month, fans started calling for Kathryn to be fired after aeged racist messages were released by a black radio host, Mika Gadsen.

Kathryn and Mika were arguing over a scheduled Trump Boat Parade. During the social media conversation, Kathryn argued supporting President Trump didn’t make you racist and told Mika to stop using her “minority claim.” Kathryn then text a monkey emoji to Mika which many called racist.

The reality star has made three attempts at making an apology in the weeks since she started catching heat. She tweet, “It’s hard to know the right words to say but I will not be silent. My black brothers and sisters I hear you, I see you, and I am with you. 👊🏼👊🏿”

She ended, “Honestly I never realized the monkey emoji was racist. Obviously I was wrong. I’m sorry. The conversation I had was distorted and completely taken out of context and now I’m being called all these things that I am not. I really appreciate people who correct me and teach me because without them I might have been repeating mistakes for a long time. Honestly I use that emoji all the time because it looks silly and awkward the way the way it is sitting. I was messaging is anonymous I did not know who...boy/girl black/white. I hear you, I see you and I’m sorry. For the fans that I have offended, I’m sorry. For the fans that have supported me, thank you.”

Kathryn was recently sued over an unpaid $5,000 bill.
