Sia has figured out the Internet is an unforgiving place after bizarrely mistaking Nicki Minaj for Cardi B then bringing the duo’s famous feud into the mix. The “Chandelier” singer left everyone scratching their heads when she responded to someone’s tweet asking about a potential collaboration with Nicki, only write back by tagging Cardi B. While she’s apologized for the slip, the damage has already been done and fans are not happy. Many are slamming the 44-year-old Grammy nominee with some even calling her “racist.”
On Friday, a fan tweeted Sia with a picture of Nicki Minaj sporting the singer’s signature look — a black and white wig — and asked the star, “have you seen this pic? Where’s the collab with @NICKIMINAJ? We need it.” That’s when Sia stuck her foot in her mouth and responded, “I love @iamcardib and although this isn’t a collaboration, I would love to COLLAB with her any day!” Twitter completely lost it over her mix-up and began slamming her on Twitter.

Fans also took issue with Sia’s apology because she dragged the Black Lives Matter movement into it. After her followers made it known about her mix-up, Sia addressed the incident on Twitter. In a since-deleted tweet, she wrote, “My fuck up @NICKIMINAJ,” then followed that up by also dragging Nikki Baby into her confusion.
“I also like @MissNikkiiBaby I don’t give a shit about feuds, George Floyd was fucking murdered Breonna Taylor. Murdered. Come on let’s rise in unity,” she encouraged the haters.
“You think @iamcardib and Nikki are so petty that they would want you focusing on a silly feud instead of REAL NEWS?”
Twitter can’t hang and followers immediately began dishing out tweets slamming Sia. “There is something problematic about SIA not knowing the difference between Nicki and Cardi and dragging the BLMs movements into the apology…” someone tweeted. “Girl your [sic] a racist clown stop trying to put Cardi and Nicki against each other that shit has been over Face with tears of joy??and P.S you don’t get cool points for this,” added another.

Sia later issued a full-on apology, calling herself a “buffoon” for the mistake. “I totally misunderstood a tweet earlier that has resulted in me making a buffoon out of myself. Sorry @NICKIMINAJ and @iamcardib if you hear about it. Can I like you both?” she wrote.
Of course, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B famously got in a physical fight during New York Fashion Week in 2018. It all went down at the Harper Bazaar’s annual party and Cardi B walked out without a shoe and a bump on her head.
