Selena Gomez is addressing the unjust murder of George Floyd and her message is clear, we all need to take action and justice must be served.

The 'Lose You To Love Me' singer took to Instagram to address what is going on in this country and issued a statement in reaction to the death of George Floyd.

Like several other celebrities in her position, she started by saying, "I have spent the last 24 hours just trying to process this all."

She continued, "Nothing anyone says can take back what has happened. But we can and must all make sure to take action. Too many black lives have been taken from us for far too long. They deserve better. They deserve to be heard."

Selena went on to make the point, especially people with a large following, need to stand up and help expose racism and injustice.

"We all need to do better and not sit in silence as this injustice continues. #blacklivesmatter #justiceforgeorgefloyd #icantbreathe," she wrote.

Several fans commented on Selena's post and thanked her for using her platform to make this point. "One of the many reasons I love you, thank you for using your platform for such important things! sending so much love. #BlackLivesMatter," a fan wrote.

Selena's post comes just hours after Kim Kardashian issued a similar statement saying, "For years, with every horrific murder of an innocent black man, woman, or child, I have always tried to find the right words to express my condolences and outrage, but the privilege I am afforded by the color of m skin has often left me feeling like this is not a fight I can truly take on as my own." "Not today, not anymore. Like so many of you, I am angry. I am more than angry. I am infuriated and I am disgusted."

She added, "I am exhausted by the heartbreak I feel seeming mothers fathers, sisters, brothers and children suffering because their loved one was murdered or locked away unjustly for being black. Even though I will never know the pain and suffering they have endured, or what it feels like to try to survive in a world plagued by systemic racism, I know I can use my own voice to help amplify those voices that have been muffled for too long."
