‘Chrisley Knows Best’ star Savannah Chrisley says the family is forced to teach her niece, Chloe, to be extra cautious around police officers following the brutal killing of George Floyd.
Savannah Chrisley took to Instagram to explain her silence on the subject for the past few days, saying she was processing the incident that occurred in Minnesota.
In her statement, Savannah says the Chrisley family is forced to teach her 7-year old niece, Chloe Chrisley, to be careful when interacting with police officers.
Chloe is the daughter of Savannah’s brother, Kyle, and is mixed-race. The 7-year-old began living with Todd and Julie Chrisley after son Kyle suffered from substance abuse and mental health issues.

The ‘Chrisley Knows Best’ star started her statement on Instagram defending her silence on the subject, saying, “I have gotten some comments about why I haven’t addressed what’s gone on in Minneapolis…of course a lot you say “oh she’s a privileged white girl…” but frankly YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO I AM!!
She continued, “I have conversations about it and I’m trying to process it myself. My dad and I sat and had a lengthy conversation about it and we were heartbroken and scared for Chloe’s future.”
Savannah explained the family has to teach young Chloe about the racism and police brutality she may witness in her lifetime.
“We live in a world where we have to teach her to be EXTRA cautious around police officers because of the color of her skin…IT HAS TO STOP!!” Chrisley wrote.
She contiuned, “I have ALWAYS and WILL always stand up for what is right. Yes…it took me a few days to comment but that’s because I was struggling with it myself. I do believe that something good will come through this heartache that we are all feeling together.”
The reality star included a verse from the bible, Isaiah 66:9 which reads, “I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born, says the Lord.”
In the Instagram post, Savannah included a picture of herself and young Chloe, saying, “George Floyd will forever be remembered.”
Fans of the show flooded Savannah’s Instagram page supporting the reality star, following her post, saying, “Those of US who follow you & believe we know you and your family dear? don’t need any explanations or statements! Just stay safe and protect our princess at ALL COST.”
“You have a beautiful family! Always supporting one another and surrounding each other with lots of love! Chloe is blessed! ❤️” another added.
