Country superstar Sam Hunt was arrested for DUI and new photos show partying with friends just before the arrest. The "Take Your Time" singer was busted Thursday morning and booked into the Metro jail around 6:30 AM.

Photos posted to social media show Hunt at a local Nashville sports bar, The Ainsworth, located in midtown. He posed for a group shot with friends and appears to be holding a bottle of beer in his right hand. He is also clearly wearing the blue hoodie that he was arrested in and wearing for his mugshot.

Seen With a Beer Before Arrest

According to the arrest warrant, obtained by Nashville's WKRN, Hunt was seen driving the wrong way down an East Nashville road.

When officers caught up with him, they observed the country star swerving in and out of his lane. Upon stopping the vehicle, cops say Hunt smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes. If that wasn't suspect enough, he also had to two empty beer cans next to him in the car.

Hunt also apparently tried to hand over his credit card instead of his ID card, and was seen fumbling around with his personal belongings by officers.

He admitted to drinking "recently" and was given a field sobriety test, which he apparently failed. The report lists Hunt's blood-alcohol level at .173.

Hunt took a smiling mugshot and was released from jail around 9 AM on a $2,500 bond. He's due back in court on January 17, 2020. Local reporters caught up with Hunt while he was leaving but he pulled his hat and hood down low and clearly was not in the mood to talk any cameras.

After the details over Hunt's arrest went public, fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment in the star.

"Sam Hunt getting arrested for a DUI and handing the cops his credit card is the weirdest thing I have ever heard. Like. You’re Sam Hunt. That shitty pop country money can buy you an Uber. Stupid" one person commented.

Another wrote, "saw sam hunt trending and got very excited only to be severely let down. a) how do rich people get DUIs? just hire a car, you're rich! b) where's the damn album?"
