Russell Simmons is catching heat after leaving controversial comments on Nick Cannon's latest post amid mental health concerns. The former "Wild 'n Out" host seemed to be in a downward spiral after facing backlash for his anti-Semitic comments. He lost his job as host of the popular series and even received death threats. When Nick Cannon took to social media to tag himself in "Heaven," saying "goodbye Earth," then followed it up by admitting his own suicidal thoughts, followers flocked to the comments telling him to "stay strong." Several celebrities did too, but Uncle Russ' "tone-deaf" response is leaving an ugly taste in fans' mouth.

Fans prayed for Nick Cannon's wellbeing after he tagged himself in "Heaven." After remaining silent for 24 hours, he addressed his followers again by sharing that his dear friend took his own life. "After waking up & barely rising from my own dark contemplation of continuing my physical existence on this planet," Nick Cannon wrote that Ryan Bowers "actually had the balls to do it."

He ended the lengthy tribute post by expressing his guilt and frustration. "I can’t help but think if I wasnt so engulfed in my own bullshit I could’ve been there for you when you finally took your life after several attempts... Fuck this place!!" he shared.

Fans are floored with Russell Simmons' response and immediately clapped back at his comments. "@unclerush honestly?? Did someone hijack ur page? 'Just accept that you are just more interesting'??? More interesting than who? His friend who JUST KILLED HIMSELF?? Forreal?" one person wrote.

"He sounds like a damn narcissist. Wanting all attention on himself when @nickcannon is clearly hurting. This man just lost a friend to suicide and Nick is contemplating it. Shame on you @unclerush," added another. When someone stood up for Russell Simmons another person replied back, "This is a serious issue & for such an influential man to have said something like this in response to a 'friend' admitting this was just tone deaf & flat out irresponsible."
