Ron Howard confirmed that audiences may soon get to catch up on the adventures of Willow Ufgood.
The director was out in NYC on Tuesday and spoke on the efforts to develop a sequel to the 1988 fantasy film, “Willow.” Recently, Howard revealed there were “serious discussions” going on, and also that Warwick Davis would be reprising his role as the titular character.
Howard confirmed the project is in development, and said it would most likely return as a series. Previous reports said that “Willow” would most likely end up on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+, seeing as the original was produced by George Lucas and his Lucasfilm company.
Howard isn’t sure if he’d direct, but said he’d definitely be a producer. However, he doesn’t want fans to get too excited yet … as these deals tend to fall through in Hollywood.
The narrator of “Arrested Development” also discussed his recent stance on the Georgia abortion bill. Howard and Imagine Entertainment fellow producer, Brian Grazer, have announced they will boycott Georgia if the bill goes into effect.
