"Bughead" may be broken up but months before their split the duo posed together in a sensual photo shoot.

Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse's W Magazine cover was released on Thursday, just days after news broke the real-life "Riverdale" couple were no longer together.

According to the interviewer, their relationship seemed rocky two months ago when the then-couple asked to be interviewed separately.

Despite being interviewed in different locations, Reinhart and Sprouse appeared to be unified with their responses about their relationship, while also being vague as to where they stood as a couple.

Here's everything they said about their relationship:

Reinhart insists that even though they took their "Riverdale" characters' on-screen relationship off-screen, they are two separate people.

"We’re not fighting with the idea that people group us together, but we are paired up a lot," she said.

"We’re acknowledging that we’re in a relationship, but it’s a small part of who we are as people. We want our own separate identities."

Sprouse mirrored that thought, saying, “Lili is an incredibly talented individual who speaks for herself and deserves her own voice box in every single way."

Adding, “That alone is justification enough for me to do it like this. I don’t think we’re weaving two different narratives here.”

The duo also made it clear that when it comes to their private life, their lips are zipped.

“At first, I didn’t want things private,” Reinhart said about their relationship. “Now that I’m X amount of years in, I do appreciate the privacy we have, that he’s encouraged me to take. No one knows how long we’ve been together, and no one will until we’re ready to say it. No one knows how we fell in love, except for our close friends and us. It’s really special.”

"Until you go through the paces and the dating stages and know that something is right for you, I don’t think it’s appropriate to bring others in," Sprouse shared.

On their popularity with fans, he stated, "I think part of the fun that the audience had, and still has, is going: What’s up with them right now? It’s interesting!”

Sprouse did clarify one thing, stating, “My own happiness and her happiness come before caring about what people are saying.”

When it comes to fan's fears that a real-life breakup could affect Betty and Jughead's romance, Reinhart didn't have an answer.

“If and when we break up on the show, I don’t know,” she said. “It’s weird being with an actor. You deal with shit no one has to deal with.”

The stars also talked about their lives before "Riverdale," which couldn't be more polar opposite.

Reinhart slept on an air mattress at her friend's before landing the job.

“Only three years ago, I was eating $2 hot dogs from 7-Eleven every day,” she said. “I applied to Urban Outfitters and a tanning salon before I booked Riverdale. It’s not like I’m used to this life.”

Sprouse was thrust into the spotlight at just 8 months old, later landing shows like "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" and starring along Adam Sandler in "Big Daddy."

The actor says that years ago, he thought putting all his attention into work was the way to go, but his stance on that has changed.

“When I was younger, I was always attempting to create a semblance of home or confidence or validation or whatever it was through work," Sprouse described. "Now I’m in a place where I’m chasing a lifestyle.” He talked a lot about “work-life balance."

Earlier this week it was reported that after two years Reinhart and Sprouse called it quits.

Staying true to what they said in the interview about privacy, the former couple has yet to say anything about the split.

In the middle of writing this, Reinhart took to IG and wrote, "BREAKING: A reliable source has confirmed that none of you know shit."

Sprouse posted too, but captioned the cover, "UNPRECEDENTED: Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart consume the flesh of ‘reliable sources’ to fuel their bacchanalian sex cult."

Whether they're broken up or not, they're definitely trolling fans about their status.
