There were 8 others on board Kobe Bryant‘s helicopter when it crashed and burst into flames, and one of those victims had a connection to “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Shannon Beador. The 55-year-old revealed that her daughters’ basketball coach Christina Mauser was one of the others who perished with the NBA legend. Taking to social media hours after the crash, Shannon Beador posted a photo of her girls with their former coach and paid tribute with an emotional message.
“Christina Mauser. An incredible coach and amazing influence on all three of my daughters that played basketball in middle school. And amazing mother of 3 children,” Shannon wrote. “Our greatest sympathies go out to @sinatrabigband and his family.” The Bravo star continued by stating that her daughters are “devastated” over the loss. She ended her message by sending prayers to Christina Mauser’s family. Shannon Beador’s daughters with ex-husband David Beador include Sophie, 18, and twins Stella and Adeline, 14. Christina was married to Tijuana Dogs singer Matt Mauser, who confirmed her death on Sunday.
Taking to social media, Matt wrote, “My kids and I are devastated. We lost our beautiful wife and mom today in a helicopter crash. Please respect our privacy. Thank you for all the well wishes they mean so much.” On Monday, he called into “Today Show” to speak out on losing his wife who he called a “beautiful, smart, funny” person. “It’s horrible,” he told Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie. “It’s horrible. I’ve got three small kids, and I’m trying to figure out how to navigate life with three kids and no mom.”
Katrina Foley, the mayor of Costa Mesa, addressed Christina Mauser’s death on Sunday. “I just learned that our amazing Matt Mauser of TiajuanaDogs lost his wife Christina in the crash,” she wrote on Twitter. “She coached the girls’ team. This devastating tragedy gets worse by the hour. So much pain for so many local families. Our hearts are broken & grieving for the families impacted.” As The Blast reported, Kobe Bryant was traveling with his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and 7 others on the way to basketball at the time of the accident.
Orange County college baseball coach John Altobelli was also a victim of the helicopter crash. His wife and daughter were also on the helicopter too. Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and 7 others passed away on Sunday when their helicopter went down and caught fire in Calabasas, CA. An outpouring of support from celebrities has been coming in for Vanessa Bryant and his three other daughters. NBA greats including Magic Johnson, Shaq, and Lamar Odom spilled their hearts out after hearing the news of Kobe Bryant’s death. He was 41 years old.
