“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards paid homage to the late Rip Taylor with an epic throwback picture from the 80s sitcom, “Down to Earth.”
“#RipTaylor was one of a kind,” Richards wrote in her tribute post. “He was always fun and kind to us kids.”
The star ended her message with “Thanks for the laughs #restinpeace.”
The show “Down to Earth aired from 1984-1987 and stared Dick Sargent, David Kaufman and many more. The show’s premise involved a free-spirited woman named Ethel MacDoogan from the Roaring 1920s who passed away when she was involved in a fatal car accident.
Ethel waits in Heaven for a chance to earn her wings before she is finally sent to earth to help out the Preston family.
Richards played the role of Lissy Preston and she remembered the late Rip Taylor’s role as Ethel’s angelic boss, Stanley McCloud, in her old photo.
“Such a pleasure working with him,” Richards wrote.
Her “Down to Earth” co-star, David Kaufman commented on the Housewives star’s post.
“Confetti in heaven today,” Kaufman wrote on Kyle’s post. “He was truly an original. RIP Rip. Love you, Kyle!”
Rip Taylor passed away Sunday in Beverly Hills. He was 84.
The zany comedian was known as the “King of Confetti” and has been important in pop culture for over six decades.
