Kandi Burruss Speaks Out After Valentine's Day Shooting At Her Atlanta Restaurant

By Jeff Mazzeo

Kandi Burruss is "truly saddened" by the events that left 3 people with gunshot wounds at her popular restaurant in Atlanta on Valentine's Day.

The "Real Housewives Of Atlanta" star spoke out for the first time since the shooting at Old Lady Gang (OLG) with an emotional statement on social media. Burruss shared a picture with the words, "God's got you." to accompany her lengthy caption.

"My family and I are truly saddened by the unfortunate events that occurred at Old Lady Gang (OLG) Camp Creek, on the evening of February 14th, an evening that was meant to celebrate love, unfortunately turned into something quite different," Kandi began her statement.

"Our prayers and thoughts go out to the individuals that were harmed or in any way negatively impacted. We are aware that this matter is being actively investigated by law enforcement and we are cooperating with law enforcement to bring to justice those involved."

The Violent Act Is Not A Reflection Of The Community

A man walked into the crowded restaurant, allegedly targeted one man and shot two innocent bystanders, according to WSB-TV. Customers and the relatives of employees told the local news affiliate that it is shocking and surprising that such a violent act would go down in the popular eatery. The "RHOA" star made it clear that the tragedy does not define the restaurant nor the community.

"As African-American business owners, it has been our goal to invest in our community by bringing jobs, quality dining, and a positive experience to the greater Atlanta area; we hope that you know and understand that the acts of violence that occurred yesterday evening do not, in any way, serve as a reflection of OLG or its values," she continued.

"We appreciate all of the love and prayers that have come our way and we encourage anyone with any information regarding any aspects of the events that occurred to please reach out to law enforcement as soon as possible."

Victims Are Expected To Survive

The East Point police told WSB-TV that the gunman is still on the run and they, like Kandi, are looking for help from the community to find the culprit. All three victims have not been identified and were transported to a local hospital. They are expected to survive their injuries.

The official Instagram for the restaurant Burruss owns with husband, Todd Tucker put out the same statement Kandi shared.
