Rasual Butler was not married to "American Idol" finalist Leah LaBelle when they died together in a tragic car crash, according to legal documents filed by the late NBA star's daughter.

The Blast obtained the filing by Raven S. Butler-Morris seeking a court order to become the administrator of her father's estate. She also makes it clear in the documents that Butler was "never married and never had any other children," aside from herself.

The revelation by Butler's daughter also seems to explain why the remains of the two were split up after cremation.

What's interesting, is many friends and fans of 38-year-old Butler and 31-year-old LaBelle believed them to be married, as well as authorities when they were investigating the single-vehicle crash that killed them on January 31.

Butler says her father died without a will but believes his estate to be worth $250,000. She also lists that she is unaware of the value of his personal property.

A judge has not yet ruled on her request.
