The daughter of late ex-NBA star Rasual Butler has gone to court in Florida to take control of $500,000 worth of property he left behind following his tragic death earlier this year.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Butler’s 20-year-old daughter, Raven Butler-Morris, filed a petition in to be appointed the head of his estate in the state.

She explains there are no other beneficiaries of the estate and she is the sole heir. Raven has already filed a probate case in Los Angeles to handle the majority of his assets and property, but she had to head to Florida to take control of his property in that state.

At the time of his death, she explains Butler owned a home in Pembroke Pines, Florida worth $479,360. Based on real estate listings, Butler’s home was put on the market this month and has a pending sale at the price of $470k.

Raven attached to the petition an updated death certificate for her father, which corrected the form to say "never married" instead of "married" to his girlfriend, "American Idol" finalist Leah Labelle, who also died in the accident with Butler.
