Rapper Trina Canceled For Calling George Floyd Protesters 'Animals'

By Whitney Vasquez

Rapper Trina found herself in hot water after stating her strong and unpopular opinion about people protesting for change in honor of George Floyd. The 45-year-old star sat down with Trick Daddy on their 99 Jamz Radio and labeled protesters "animals," calling on the Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez to "lock them up." She also insisted that curfew time be set even earlier in the city. Following her radio show, fans immediately took to social media to slam the star with #notrina quickly trending.

Her Controversial Comments:

"They need to make the curfew at 6 p.m.," she said, insinuating that the current curfew 9 PM is too late. "Keep everybody off the street, these animals off the streets, that are running around in Miami-Dade County acting like they have escaped from a zoo. Lock them up at 5 p.m. so the streets can be nice and clean, that's how I feel." Trina continued by airing out her frustrations with people trashing businesses.

“We can’t bring back nobody lives that has been taken away, whether it’s from the police or the hands of another civilian,” she continued before bringing up her little brother's death. “We cannot bring them back. You cannot pump life back into them at all. I can’t bring back my little brother's life, his life was taken by the hands of a man, a black man.” The rapper then accused a lot of the protesters marching against police brutality of being "fake."

Listen To Their Heated Conversation:

"Half of y'all marching are not even caring about this man," Trina insisted. She also told listeners that she's "never scared" of police. "I have my license and registration and insurance. I'm not scared. I know my rights." That statement hit hard among the community who fired back at the self-dubbed "baddest bitch" on Twitter. "Trina said she ain’t worried about getting pulled over by the police cause she got her license and registration. Bitch so the 100s of black ppl who were killed by police didn’t have their license & registration?" asked one person.

#NoTrina Begins Trending:

"Dang Trina. I guess you really don't know NANN. Nuh uh. Pensive facePensive face," added another angry follower. "Trina really said in her interview “I know my rights. I have my license & registration. Black people need to be arrested & stop acting like animals in the streets”.. As if Black people aren’t the main ones supporting her & her music. These Black celebrities are a joke. Smh," shared a third. Trina has since hit back at haters, doubling down on her comments.
