Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may soon be California residents because the royal duo is reportedly eyeing a $7 million mansion tucked into the prestigious star-studded neighborhood of Malibu, CA. Photos of the property they are said to be looking at buying shows the large home boasts a large swimming pool, a tennis court, and five bedrooms. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been spending time in Canada since leaving the U.K. weeks ago and will end their royal duties on March 31 concluding “Megxit.”
The sprawling home was once owned by “Baywatch” star David Charvet and his ex Brooke Burke and is surrounded by an endless supply of Hollywood’s most elite stars. Mel Gibson, Robert Downey Jr., Dick Van Dyke and Caitlyn Jenner are just a few of the neighbors they’d be able to borrow sugar from if the duo purchases the Malibu home. A great move for Meghan Markle’s career if she decides to go back to her acting roots. Besides celebrity neighbors, the star-filled area also sits behind a guarded security gate to keep unwanted visitors off the properties.
Last month, Caitlyn Jenner was the first person to spill the beans that the Sussexes were looking to buy a home in her neighborhood. Talking to the hosts of “Loose Women,” the former Olympian said she understood why Meghan Markle wanted to leave her royal duties behind. When the panel asked Caitlyn Jenner what she thought was next for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, she responded, “I can’t predict as I’ve tried to raise our royal family in the US. It was probably very difficult for Meghan, coming into the Royal Family.” She then revealed, “It was a big shock to her, she’s probably had enough. Good for them, we’ll see how it goes. I heard they were looking for a house in Malibu. It must have been tough. Everyone deserves to be happy.”
If Archie‘s parents do become Malibu residents, they will be close to Meghan Markle’s mom Doria in Windsor Hills, which is about 30 miles away from the beachside neighborhood. Interestingly enough, part of their “Megxit” agreement includes not being able to receive public funds anymore. Prince Harry and Meghan Markel will now have to find ways to make their own money. They also agreed to pay back 2.4 million pounds of taxpayers’ money that was used to renovate their home by Windsor Castle, which could make it hard to slap down the cash for that $7 million mansion!
