President Trump Launches Space Command ... Space Force is Next!

President Donald Trump is taking the first step to secure our intergalactic borders, and has announced the implementation of the Space Command!

Trump made the announcement Thursday during a ceremony in the Rose Garden at the White House, explaining, "Those who wish to harm the United States, to seek to challenge us on the ultimate high ground of space, it's going to be a whole different ballgame."

He stood alongside U.S. Air Force Gen. John "Jay" Raymond and Defense Secretary Mark Esper to establish Space Command as the 11th combatant command.

Space Command will join the ranks of US Central Command, which oversees operations in the Middle East, and US Special Operations Command, which oversees Special Operations Forces.

The command post will initially be comprised of only 287 personnell, but President Trump has big plans, including the establishment of the United States Space Force.

Trump has spoken about Space Force before, but now he seems to have a legitimate plan of action regarding the department.

He described Space Force as the sixth branch of the US armed forces, and will "organize, train and equip warriors to support Space Command's mission."

One of the main functions of Space Command will be protecting the satellites that deal with performing essential military and commercial functions.

Trump said that Space Command will also be responsible for detecting and destroying enemy missile launches targeted at the U.S.
