Pete Davidson may not have to work too hard to find his inspiration on his next big role, because it appears he's literally playing himself.

The "Saturday Night Live" star was seen Tuesday in his hometown of Staten Island, NY while filming an untitled project with director Judd Apatow.

The star was seen with a group of guys who were all dressed in street clothes and appeared to be gathering outside a convenience store.

Wearing shorts and a graphic tee with dirty converse, Davidson can be seen taking a long drag from a cigarette and blowing out a cloud of smoke.

Apatow was also seen, wearing a pair of Nike's, while giving direction to the Davidson and the other actors.

The untitled film was announced earlier this year and is slated to be a semi-autobiographical comedy based on Davidson's life.

The project, which is co-written by Apatow and Davidson, is being produced by Universal Pictures.

Davidson lives in Staten Island, and regularly uses the NY borough as a premise for his stand-up comedy routine.

Earlier in the week, he was seen at a local basketball court shooting hoops with actor, Ricky Velez.

Davidson was also seen pretending to make a hasty retreat from a home while holding a pile of his clothes.

The coming-of-age comedy has also locked down some big names to co-star alongside Davidson, including Marisa Tomei, Bill Burr, Bel Powley, Maude Apatow and Pamela Adlon.

It was also recently announced that Steve Buscemi had signed on to appear in the project.

The film is scheduled for a July, 2020 release.
