The Blast

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr reunited on stage in front of thousands of people for the first time in years.

It all went down Saturday night in Los Angeles during the encore of McCartney's sold out show at Dodger Stadium.

As McCartney was about to begin The Beatles classic tune, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," he announced his longtime bandmate to the stage, "Ringo Starr!"

The crowd went wild as the British musicians embraced, and McCartney gave his old friend a kiss on the head.

The two stars even exchanged, "I love you, man," before Ringo took his spot behind the drum kit and the two broke out in song.

Ringo, who just celebrated his 79th birthday, fell right back into sync with McCartney.

It's the first time the two have performed together since the 2014 Grammy Awards, when they celebrated the 50th Anniversary since The Beatles first appeared on U.S. television.

Die hard Beatles fans lucky enough to see the reunion go down immediately took to social media to express their joy.

"Yes Paul Mccartney & RINGO Starr together on stage & performed together at DODGER Stadium tonight so lucky to have been there!" one user tweeted.

Another wrote, "Everyone freaked and screamed so LOUD when Ringo was announced as a special and surprise guest!"
