Patti Stanger claims she had hundreds of items stolen out of her hotel room while shooting episodes of "Millionaire Matchmaker" and now she's suing the hotel, claiming they blew it big time.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Stanger agreed to shoot her show at the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel back in 2017. She claims she was given three rooms during production — one for wardrobe and makeup, one to sleep in, and one for storing her personal belongings.
Stanger claims the hotel assured her her belongings would be safe and the third room would be secure at all times. She claims the hotel even pointed out there were security cameras located at all corners of the building that housed the storage room.
But on May 3, 2017, Patti Stanger claims the room was broken into and hundreds of her personal items were stolen. She claims the robbery had to have taken "nearly an hour to accomplish" with multiple individuals packing 10 suitcases with items weighing over 500 pounds.
She claims once the LAPD began to investigate the robbery, it was clear the hotel had lied to her about their security capabilities. Stanger says the security cameras she was shown were not real and were simply "decoys" that were designed "only to discourage the staff from theft."
To make matters worse, Stanger claims the LAPD caught the alleged robber but the District Attorney dropped the case because the hotel "failed to obtain any corroborating recorded or other evidence of the suspect's presence at the Hotel on the night in question."
Stanger claims her stolen items were never recovered.
She is suing for unspecified damages.
