Tennis Star Novak Djokovic Suffers Big Loss, TV Show Gets Dropped

By TheBlast Staff

Novak Djokovic just took a major "L," only this time it was off the court because the tennis pro's much-hyped Amazon docuseries just got shut down.

Sources close to the project tell The Blast hundreds of hours of footage was shot chronicling Djokovic's 2017 season, but the 12 time Grand Slam champ cut off access to producers once he got injured and lost a few matches.

We're told Djokovic made it extremely difficult to produce content for the series, including barring the crew from extensively shooting him or his family.

Around the same time as the docuseries shutdown, the 30-year-old Serbian announced a "prolonged break" from tennis after suffering an elbow injury.

Our sources say after the injury, Djokovic made it clear his priority was tennis and rehabilitation, not the show.

We're told it wasn't long until Amazon caught wind of what was going down and pulled the plug on the project, which was helmed by Peter Berg's company.

The project could be revived if the tennis star decides to mount a comeback and cooperate with production. The ball is in your court, Novak.
