Nicki Minaj's Husband Kenneth Petty Registers As Sex Offender In California, Still Facing 10 Years In Prison

By Ryan Naumann

Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty finally registered as a sex offender in California, days after being released from prison

According to official records, Petty is officially in California’s database of sexual offenders and a new mug shot has been uploaded.

Petty registering is a big deal since him not taking care of business is what lead to him being arrested and charged with a felony.

Earlier this month, Petty was hit with an indictment and arrested by U.S. Marshals for failing to register after moving from New York to California with Minaj. Petty was convicted of first-degree attempted rape in 1995 and required to register when he moved to a different state.

Petty moved to California with his then-fiancé in July 2019. In November, he was pulled over while driving in Beverly Hills for a traffic violation. The traffic stop was the catalyst for the new legal issues. Beverly Hills police determined Petty was in violation for not registering. He was placed under arrest and released on a $20,000 bond. The L.A. County D.A. charged him for failing to register but things got worse.

The feds then got involved and hit with a federal indictment. He was taken back into custody and faced another judge.

He entered a plea of not guilty and was released on bond. Prosecutors wanted him to be placed on house arrest, but the court landed on an ankle monitor. Petty was forced to surrender his passport and ordered to stay away from drugs, marijuana and drinking.

Nicki Minaj’s ex-boyfriend, Meek Mill, spoke out following Petty’s arrest saying, “You won’t never see me liking something about somebody catching a case I just wouldn’t say nothing! End of that.”

Petty is facing up to 10 years behind bars if convicted. Minaj has yet to comment on the matter.
