Nick Cannon can’t catch a break. After losing his job as host of “Wild n’ Out” following making anti-Semitic comments, the 39-year-old star has just suffered another blow. On Friday, July 17, Lionsgate and Debmar-Mercury issued a statement revealing that his highly-anticipated talk show, which was supposed to premiere this year, will not debut until 2021 with no airdate confirmation.
“The ‘Nick Cannon’ talk show will not debut this year,” the statement read. The producer and distributor of the nationally syndicated talk show said they stand by Nick Cannon but their actions are making eyebrows raise.
“After conversations with Nick, we do believe that his public comments don’t reflect his true feelings and his apology is heartfelt and sincere. We want to continue the healing process as he meets with leaders of the Jewish community and engages in a dialogue with our distribution partners to hear their views,” they told Us Weekly. “We are standing by Nick in our hope that by fall 2021 he will be able to use his extraordinary talent and platform to entertain, enlighten and unite his audience on the ‘Nick Cannon’ talk show.” Hope is the keyword of the statement.
The statement concluded, “Lionsgate and Debmar-Mercury condemn anti-Semitism, racism and hate speech. It runs counter to everything we stand for.”
The talk show is Nick Cannon’s latest setback after ViacomCBS severed ties with the star, including his role on “Wild n’ Out.” Expressing remorse for his behavior, the star issued an apology but was faced with major backlash, including from celebrities like Waka Flocka Flame. Nick Cannon caused his fans to grow concerned over his mental health after dropping a cryptic post earlier this morning, tagging his location as “Heaven.”

The troubling message read, “I hurt an entire community and it pained me to my core. I thought it couldn’t get any worse. Then I watched my own community turn on me and call me a sell-out for apologizing. Goodnight. Enjoy Earth.”
Fans immediately took to social media to express their concern over Nick Cannon’s mental health sending well wishes and prayers his way. Many also included Tamar Braxton in their public prayer. Hours before Nick Cannon’s “Heaven” post, she was rushed to the hospital for a potential suicide attempt. She is now in stable condition.
