Former Blink-182 star Tom DeLongegot some out of this world news, because the Navy acknowledged that 3 videos brought to light by his research organization are officially “unidentified” flying objects.
DeLonge has long been fascinated with the possibility of life, and in 2015 founded To the Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences, an organization dedicated the study of UFOs and to, “advance society’s understanding of scientific phenomena and its technological implications.”
A few years back, 3 videos taken by Navy pilots, and appearing to show UFO activity, made headlines and excited people in the conspiracy theory and extraterrestrial community.
DeLonge’s organization released one of the videos, recorded on January 21st, 2015 and appearing to show an unidentified aircraft making aerial moves and communicating about how strange the vehicle was.
Last week, the Navy acknowledged the videos for the first time, and officially gave a description of the mystery aircraft.
According to The Black Vault, Navy spokesperson Joseph Gradisher told wrote that, “the Navy considers the phenomena contained/depicted in those 3 videos as unidentified.”
The phrase “unidentified” refers to “unidentified aerial phenomena,” which has been the agreed upon term in the UFO community … instead of using “UFO.”
The Navy has made it a practice to investigate strange occurrences that are reported by U.S. fighter pilots, as well as any unauthorized aircraft that are entering military-controlled training facilities or U.S. airspace.
Officials did not elaborate on the “unidentified” phenomena, or whether they think it represents a sign of extraterrestrial life, but the UFO community is definitely excited about the news.
Of course, the skeptics aren’t yet ready to sign on to the fact that life on other planets exists. As one user on Twitter put it, “A UFO just means it’s unidentified. We can’t say it’s from another world just because we can’t identify it. So dumb.”
