Natalie Portman is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to play Thor.
Natalie Portman is reprising her role as Jane Foster in the Thor franchise, although this time she will portray Mighty Thor and be given the power of Mjolnir. The announcement was made during Marvel Studios’ Comic-Con panel on Saturday night. The film’s title is Thor: Love and Thunder.

Portman has previously played Jane Foster in 2011’s original Thor and then again in 2013’s Thor: The Dark World. Since then she’s been absent from the Marvel Universe.

She will be joined on screen by Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, and Taika Waititi returns to direct the film. It is set to be released November 5, 2021.
The news joins the announcement that Mahershala Ali will be playing Blade in a reboot of the vampire franchise. Marvel made several other big announcements, as well.
