“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
The couple seem to have reached a settlement in their divorce last week, working out the final details in the division of property and assets. A source told People:
“Miley is relieved that she and Liam reached an agreement when it comes to the divorce. She just wants to move on.”
Cyrus has been dating Cody Simpson for months now, and the two of them spent the holidays with her family, with an insider saying that the couple is doing “great.”
“They had a wonderful Christmas Day with her family. They plan on celebrating New Year’s together, as well. They are also talking about an Australia trip next year. Miley seems very happy.”
Now that her emotional life is seemingly back on track, Cyrus is focusing on her music. She debuted a radical new mullet hairstyle on Twitter that definitely got fans talking, but the caption “New hair. New year. NEW MUSIC.” was the main attraction.
Cyrus is a chameleon who has taken on many different personas in her music, so it’s interesting to posit which Miley we will be seeing this time. Will it be Bangerz era Miley? A return to her country roots like on Younger Now? Probably neither, as Cyrus’s past few singles have been more classic pop sound than anything else.

Cyrus has spoken a bit about the album, She Is Miley Cyrus in the past. It’s got a slightly unconventional release, functioning as three EPs instead of one album. The first EP, She Is Coming, was released in May 2019, and the following two, She Is Here and She Is Everything will be released at some point in 2020. Cyrus explained the inspiration for the album in Elle:
“She’ is not just a woman. ‘She’ doesn’t refer to a vagina. ‘She’ is a force of nature. ‘She’ is power. ‘She’ can be anything you want to be, therefore, ‘she’ is everything. ‘She’ is the super she. ‘She’ is the she-ro. ‘She’ is the She-E-O.”
