Miley Cyrus is following through on a promise she made to Janice Freeman before the singer's death.

Cyrus made the announcement Monday afternoon, revealing she made a "promise to you here on earth and will keep that promise as you watch from heaven," adding, "To take care of your precious little girl, my baby sister."

Freeman's daughter, 12-year-old Hannah, is very familiar with the "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" singer, as Cyrus helped the Freeman's recently when they were in need of a home.

Back in January, Freeman revealed that Cyrus, "Found us placement until we found permanent housing, gave me the deposit, covered me for 6 months so I can get on my feet!" The late-singer said Cyrus was "one of my closest friends," after the time they spent together on "The Voice."

As we reported, Freeman died over the weekend from an extreme case of pneumonia, and a blood clot that traveled to her heart.
