Michelle Obama Tells Greta Thunberg 'Don’t Let Anyone Dim Your Light

By Jeff Mazzeo

16-year-old Greta Thunberg has one powerful supporter in Michelle Obama. The former First Lady came to the defense of the young activist shortly after President Trump tweeted saying that Geta needs to "chill." Obama tweeted at Thunberg on Thursday night with several words of encouragement.

"@GretaThunberg, don’t let anyone dim your light. Like the girls I’ve met in Vietnam and all over the world, you have so much to offer us all. Ignore the doubters and know that millions of people are cheering you on," Michelle wrote.

Trump's comments about Thunberg came after it was announced that she was selected as the 2019 Time Magazine Person Of The Year and graced the cover of the prestigious magazine. She became the youngest person to ever receive the honor after nearly a year for activism for climate change and more importantly calling for the young to hold those in power responsible.

Time's selection did not sit well with Trump, who has a history of bashing the young activist. He replied to a congratulatory message actress Roma Downey sent Greta's way. Trump suggested that the 16-year-old has anger issues and she should just relax a little bit.

"So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!" the President tweeted.

Greta Trolls Trump

The 45th President is admittedly one of the best when it comes to social media but it is hard to have Twitter beef with a 16-year-old. After Trump came at her online, Thunberg changed her profile to troll his tweet. She her Twitter bio to "A teenager working on her anger management problem. Currently chilling and watching a good old fashioned movie with a friend."

Although Greta is making waves and is a public figure, she is still a minor and the current First Lady, Melania Trump, has spoken out in the past about how young children should be left out of politics when she was defending her son, Baron.

In this day and age, when you put something out in public or online, don't be surprised if it rubs people the wrong way whether it is the President of the United States or a teen activist on Twitter.

Greta's Got Celeb Support

Celebrities like Alyssa Milano and Bette Midler were ecstatic about the way Greta troll the President. They both have been very outspoken about their disdain for Trump and the First Lady.

Milano urged her large fan base to "look at Greta’s bio" right after the young girl changed it but Midler praised someone for pointing out what she calls Melania's "hypocrisy."

"Thank you for bringing the hypocrisy of #FLOTUS' #BeBest campaign to our attention. Her husband's bullying Ms. Thunberg, a child, seems to have gone unnoticed by her "team", and by extension, by Melania herself," Midler tweeted.

People are choosing sides and just like rap beef, Twitter beef never ends well.
