Meghan McCain has proven to be a divisive presence on The View, picking fights with her fellow co-hosts and showing a lack of respect to their guests. CNN also reported that McCain was a part of the reason that Abby Huntsman left the show.
“Abby was sick of being berated by Meghan for perceived slights. She ultimately decided she didn’t need this job and it wasn’t worth it.”
McCain often argues with more liberal co-hosts like Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar, and fans are growing tired of her constant tantrums.
Goldberg and McCain got into a scrap in the latest episode, when Goldberg likened Mitt Romney, the only Republican to vote no on acquitting President Trump, to McCain’s late father, Senator John McCain. McCain took umbrage with the comparison, saying that Romney was “nothing like her dad,” and Goldberg responded with a sharp “You’re half my age! So hear what I know!”
Meghan shot back with “That’s very dismissive. I don’t understand what my age has to do with my political perspective right now. I just don’t think it’s very nice.”
After the show cut to commercial, a source revealed that McCain got into a confrontation with a producer and that there was “definite tension on set.”
“Meghan seemed like she was reaching a breaking point during the confrontation with the producer. [McCain] barely interacted with the other hosts. It seemed like Meghan felt she was being attacked. I don’t think she’s going to last much longer.”
McCain recently revealed on Watch What Happens Live a surprising thing that could get her to leave: if Goldberg quits the show.
“If she leaves, I go. Like, Whoopi is the anchor of the show and my life there and she always picks us up when we’re down. But if she jumps, I jump. Whoopi, I adore her and I need her as the moderator.”
