Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's First Trip to Sussex as Duchess & Duke

By TheBlast Staff

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry finally visited their namesake!

After saying "I do" in May, the Duchess and Duke of Sussex made their first joint appearance in Sussex, located 50 miles outside of London, on Wednesday.

Wearing a forest green pencil skirt with a matching blouse and cream overcoat, Meghan smiled as she visited with the waiting crowd that gathered to get a glimpse of the royal's historic visit. Cuddling up to her husband, Meghan seemed at ease following her duties as the newest member of the royal family.

Among the fans Meghan and Harry visited were students from the Westbourne House School, who made a guide to the city for the couple, who happily accepted the gift.

The duo was in town to view a rare copy of the Declaration of Independence before heading to Bognor Regis, Brighton, and Peacehaven. This is one of the only two handwritten manuscripts — the other one is housed in the National Archives in Washington, D.C.

Before leaving, Meghan and Harry left their John Hancocks in the Edes House visitors' book.
