Meghan Markle & Prince Harry BAIL On Los Angeles To Live In Santa Barbara Near Oprah Winfrey!

By Mike Walters

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have bailed on living in Los Angeles and have settled down in a town just a few hours north of Hollywood, right next to Oprah Winfrey!

According to multiple reports, the ex-royal couple has purchased a home in Montecito, CA, a small area in Santa Barbara County -- which is a few hour's drive north of L.A.

The area is home to a bunch of HUGE celebrities including Oprah, Ellen DeGeneres, Drew Barrymore, and Rob Lowe. It appears the couple may have gotten some advice from Oprah herself over choosing the area to live in, as she was the one who hooked them up with Tyler Perry -- the house they rented for a few months prior.

According to one report, the couple splashed down around $10 Million for their first home together. It's a big deal, considering the couple is trying to maintain their financial freedom from the Royal family back in England. Plus, for the money, they were able to get a much bigger property than if they were back in L.A.

“This is the first home either of them has ever owned. It has been a very special time for them as a couple and as a family, to have complete privacy for six weeks since they moved in," a source told Page Six.

Adding, "This is where they want to bring Archie up, where they hope he can have as normal a life as possible.”

As we reported, the couple had been staying in Tyler Perry's sprawling $18 Million estate in Hollywood Hills. But, the couple as very upset with the paparazzi who descended on the house and photographed their every move.

The couple filed a lawsuit against the agencies claiming someone had flown a drown over their home and shot photos of their baby Archie in the private yard.

Trying To Skip Out On The L.A. Photographers!

In the lawsuit, Meghan and Harry claim the photographer claimed the pictures were taken on a day out in Malibu and not inside their private property. The lawsuit is ongoing. As you can imagine, Santa Barbara isn't photographer proof, but the couple's new neighborhood is gated and it's much harder to navigate the area. Plus, most properties have a lot more land, so it gives an ability to have security keep the perimeter secure.

Except, when bears decide to come and visit!!
