An upcoming biography about Harry and Meghan called "Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family," from reporters Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, may hold some key insights about the couple.

Katie Nicholl, an expert on the royals, spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the book, and though she says she hasn't read it completely, the excerpts she's seen may hold a lot more secrets.

According to Nicholls, besides covering the Duke and Duchess' time as public figures, there is also a "fascinating insight" about the first time they dated, details on their announcement they were leaving the royal family, and more on their much-publicized move to America earlier this year.

"Even Oprah Winfrey wasn't able to get an advance copy of this book. It has literally been kept under lock and key by the 'Times' and 'The Sunday Times.'

I think it's fair to say this is no Andrew Morton's 'Diana.' However, the level of detail in this book is quite remarkable. What the authors have managed to do is get a level of detail which is unprecedented."

Nicholls says the authors seem to have gotten incredible access to the royals, which may surprise some.

"It's clear that they have spoken to numerous sources. There is a lot of speculation that they have spoken to Harry and Meghan themselves, something that the authors have denied, and something the Sussexes' team have been keen to also play down.

They say that Meghan and Harry have had no official involvement with this biography, but it's very clear that the authors have had access to sources incredibly close to Meghan and Harry."

She adds that the book "lifts the lid on" the couple's engagement, which apparently happened weeks before Kensington Palace made the announcement.

Nicholls seems impressed with the level of detail that's been revealed in "Finding Freedom."

"We get some really remarkable details about those first dates. Just the level of detail, that, for me, has been most impressive.

I think the story is familiar to all of us now, but this is the first time we are really hearing it from Harry and Meghan's perspective, and reading it in its entirety."

Nicholls says it sounds like Harry and Meghan are hoping to clear the air on some things.

"This has made the book compelling and fascinating, but for the royal family, this book has been damaging because it has opened up old wounds."

I think what's very clear is that Meghan and Harry have wanted to get their side of the story across. This is clearly a couple who feel quite aggrieved by the fact that they've never been able to answer their critics. They have never been able to address incorrect reporting."

It's being published through HarperCollins, which has received world rights for the book, which is set to be released in August.
