Olympic champion McKayla Maroney claims she was repeatedly molested by the disgraced team doctor for USA Gymnastics, and an incident even occurred during the 2012 London games just before she won a gold medal.
Maroney claims to have been molested by Dr. Larry Nassar, who has already been accused by over 100 women of sexual assault.
21-year-old Maroney says the abuse began when she was 13-years-old, and did not end until she left the sport of gymnastics. She describes the assaults as "treatments."
She even describes a night in Tokyo where Nassary allegedly gave her a sleeping pill, and she awoke in a hotel room alone with him. Maroney, who was 15-years-old at the time, describes the night as the scariest in her entire life.
“It seemed whenever and wherever this man could find the chance, I was ‘treated.’ It happened in London before my team and I won the gold medal, and it happened before I won my silver. For me the scariest night of my life happened when I was 15 years old. I had flown all day and night with the team to get to Tokyo. He’d given me a sleeping pill for the flight, and the next thing I know, I was all alone with him in his hotel room getting a ‘treatment.’ I thought I was going to die that night.”
Nassar has already pled guilty to federal charges of possessing child pornography, and faces several civil lawsuits by women accusing him of abuse ... while he sits in prison awaiting a criminal trial on charges of sexual assault.
