“Mayans M.C.,” FX’s “Sons of Anarchy spin-off, returned for season 2 on Tuesday night. We won’t throw out any major plot spoilers, but there was an unforgettable moment early in the episode.
Chucky, who fans will remember from “Sons,” is now working for the Mayans at a junkyard. Happy (David Labrava), another “Sons” member, shows up to deliver a shipment of guns to the Mayans.
Chucky brings up Jax’s (Charlie Hunnam) wishes to get the Sons out of the gun business. Before his death, he’d charged Chibbs (Tommy Flanagan) with continuing his plan to exit the gun game.
It seems as if that transition out of guns hasn’t been completed by Chibs, who is now the President of SoA.
Happy tells Chucky, “The transition is taking longer than we thought. There is a lot at stake.”
The whole scene, specifically its reference to Jax and Chibs, got fans emotional.
In the lead-up to season 2, there were rumors of Jax potentially making an appearance in “Mayans.” It would need to be in the form of a flashback, a technique the show did utilize in season 1.

Regardless, there’s sure to be plenty more “Sons of Anarchy” references and cameos throughout the season.
New episodes air on FX on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET.

I’m disappointed in Chibs for getting back into guns after all Jax did to get them out… and I’m pretty sure their truce with the Mayans is about to end too if EZ has his way. This season is gonna be epic! #MayansFX #SOA
