Marques Houston's 19-Year-Old Fiancé Miya Speaks Out Amid Controversy

38-year-old Marques Houston’s 19-year-old fiancé Miya is speaking out for the first time since people started asking questions about their relationship.
Miya shared a selfie on Instagram captioned, “Hope Everyone is staying positive throughout all the pain going on everyday! In these times we need love more than hate. I pray that everyone is safe,happy and healthy. Thank you to those who have shown me and my family love throughout the last few days. Love you all, Miya! ?
As The Blast previously reported, Marques is catching heat for his relationship with Miya. Twitter started doing the math and had some questions about when Marques started dating Miya.
Back in March 2019, Marques announced he had proposed to Miya. They first started dating in September 2018 but not many people knew her age.
One person on Twitter asked, "can someone please explain why Marques Houston, a 38 year old geezer, is engaged to a 19 year old girl who he allegedly knew before she was 18? They announced they were in a relationship 11 days after she turned 18 last october, and now comments on the pdfile's insta are limited.”
The ex-B2K member fired back to the criticism with a lengthy post on Instagram. He wrote, “With all that’s going on in the world, my love life shouldn’t be a topic. But since it is let me just give y’all the facts so you don’t have to “allegedly” believe or create rumors. After reading the Blog that was published about my fiancé and I, I felt with this situation I needed to speak because this is not music or television, this is my family, my future wife and my life.
Marques added, “I met Miya in 2018 through a mutual friend. Never before then, did I even know she existed. Miya and I didn’t start dating until she was an adult. We fell in love and got engaged in March of 2019. My dad Michael loves her, and the people I am closest to all love her as well. Most importantly we have Jehovahs blessing ? “
The singer ended, “There is so much more to be concerned about in the world, than creating rumors about me. No one ever gets facts anymore, they just run with “stories”, but hey, I guess it comes with the territory ??♂. So to all the rumors about me, none of it is true! And that’s the story. No twists, no turns, no scandals, just true love.”
