Madden lives in Los Angeles but is not married. Plus, someone can be arrested for this charge if accused of assaulting a girlfriend, boyfriend, or even a roommate.

A spokesperson for the band issued a statement following the arrest, saying, “We are deeply devastated by this disappointing news. As we learn more, we are looking at this very seriously."

They continued, “For now, we are allowing all of the individuals involved the space to work things through.”

This isn't the guitar players' first run-in with law enforcement, according to reports, Madden was arrested in a cocaine case in New York back in 2016.

At the time, the 'Maroon 5' bassist was accused of passing a vile of cocaine to Ivanka Trump's ex-boyfriend outside of a bar in the East Village.

In the end, Madden got a 'conditional dismissal offer' and agreed to do one day of community service. Madden's lawyer, Joe Tacopina, said at the time his client never even touched the drugs.
